Job Description

As a Residential Electrician, you will play a key role in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential homes. Your day-to-day will include working on a variety of electrical projects ranging from service calls to new installations and renovations. You will have the opportunity to use your problem-solving skills, read and interpret blueprints, and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and safety standards.

In this role, you will collaborate with fellow electricians, apprentices, project managers, and clients to deliver quality service. You will report directly to the Electrical Supervisor. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys variety in daily tasks, and wants to work in a growing company with opportunities for advancement.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and service electrical wiring, lighting, panels, outlets, and other components.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems in residential environments.
• Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Perform electrical installations during new construction and remodeling projects.
• Conduct routine maintenance and system inspections to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to local electrical codes, National Electrical Code (NEC), and safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress.
• Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately and on time.
• Mentor apprentices and assist in on-the-job training when applicable.

Required Experience/Skills

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in residential electrical work.
• Must have one of the following Texas state licenses (TDLR):
  • Residential Wireman
  • Journeyman Electrician
  • Master Electrician
• Proficiency with standard electrical tools and testing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, local electrical codes, and industry safety standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with smart home technologies or energy-efficient installations.
• Familiarity with security systems and backup power generators.
• OSHA safety certification or additional specialized electrical training.
• Experience supervising apprentices or junior electricians.
• Interest in renewable energy solutions or electrical innovations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a certified electrician apprenticeship program preferred.

Pay & Benefits Summary

Pay:

• $27.50/hour base + 5% commission on service calls + $100 lead bonuses + $36 membership bonuses
• Overtime at time and a half
