(Pay packages are a combination of taxable hourly rates, tax freeallowances for travel, housing, and meal allowances) (Rates are subject to change via client need) · Additional bonuses are available. · Rates are subject to change via client BEHAVIORAL HEALTH REGISTERED NURSE JOB DESCRIPTION: · Patient assessment:Conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations, including taking medical histories, performing psychological assessments, and identifying potential risks for self-harm or violence. · Medication management:Administering prescribed psychiatric medications, monitoring for side effects, and educating patients on proper medication usage. · Individual therapy:Providing individual counseling sessions to patients, utilizing therapeutic techniques to address mental health issues and promote coping mechanisms. · Crisis intervention:Responding to immediate mental health crises, de-escalating situations, and providing necessary support during emergencies. · Care planning:Developing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, including goals, interventions, and discharge planning. · Collaboration:Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals like psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and primary care providers to coordinate patient care. · Patient education:Providing education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies. · Documentation:Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records, including clinical assessments, treatment plans, medication administration, and progress notes. Required qualifications for a Behavioral Health RN:Registered Nurse license: A valid RN license from the state of practice. Psychiatric nursing certification: May be required depending on the position and state regulations. Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with additional training in psychiatric nursing. Clinical experience: Prior experience working with individuals experiencing mental health conditions is often preferred. Work settings for a Behavioral Health RN can include:Inpatient psychiatric hospitals: Providing care to patients requiring intensive mental health treatment. Outpatient mental health clinics: Offering therapy and medication management to individuals with less severe mental health needs. Community health centers: Providing mental health services to underserved populations. Substance abuse treatment centers: Supporting individuals struggling with addiction.
