Machinist - Tool & Die Maker - CNC Operators

Tube Specialties, Inc. in Tempe, Arizona is a small business that specializes in precision tube fabrication for the Aircraft/Aerospace and Defense industries. Position Summary:

Employees will be responsible for the precision machining, fabrication, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of complex tube assemblies. These roles are crucial in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, directly contributing to our ability to produce game-changing technologies and hardware for our demanding clientele.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, repair and maintain a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges with high precision
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate a wide range of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and presses to fabricate components
• Perform precision measurements using various inspection tools to ensure conformity to specifications
• Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling designs for manufacturing and efficiency
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the tooling department

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tool & die, machinist, CNC, and 5 Axis machine operators, preferably within the aerospace, defense or similar high-precision manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of tooling concepts, materials, and heat treatment processes
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, technical drawings and GD&T
• Expertise in operation manual and CNC machining equipment
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in workmanship
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic manufacturing environment
