Job Overview:
The Day Assistant Director of the Operating Room is responsible in collaboration with other perioperative leadership for the dail management of the Operating room, manage Daily Evening Schedule and staffing. Rounding at regular intervals to monitor patient flow, anticipate delays, triage emergent add-ons, and flex the schedule in order to avoid delays.
Required:
- BSN
- Active RN New Jersey License
- 2 years of Perioperative experience
- BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
Preferred:
CNOR
Essential Duties:
- Serves as point person for materials management to ensure next days case needs are ready evening prior
- Oversees evening ancillary staff
- Functions as point person and follow up for Biomed and Maintenance regarding broken or damaged equipment
- Provides direct supervision/accountability for eve shift unit clerks/secretaries
- Provides performance feedback and counseling to evening staff per hospital policy
- Demonstrates an awareness of security, life safety and emergency protocols in the OR
- Maintains open lines of communication with other perioperative leaders, OR staff, SPD staff, PACU, surgeons and anesthesia providers
- Leads evening huddles with staff
Scheduling:
- 36 hours a week - Day
- Weekend/holiday administrative on call on rotation
