Estate Planning Attorney - Houston, TX

A respected Houston-based law firm is seeking a talented Estate Planning Attorney to join its established private clients and tax practice. The firm advises high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on comprehensive estate planning, trust and estate administration, charitable giving, and related tax matters.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary, typically ranging from $150,000-$190,000, depending on experience

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice in Texas
  • 2+ years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration
  • Solid understanding of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax laws
  • LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required
  • Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build client relationships
  • Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, fiduciaries, and family-owned businesses

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement sophisticated estate and tax planning strategies
  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents
  • Advise clients on family wealth transfer, charitable giving, and business succession planning
  • Administer complex estates and trusts, including probate proceedings and fiduciary guidance
  • Collaborate with CPAs, financial advisors, and internal teams on multi-disciplinary planning
  • Provide guidance on tax compliance and planning, including estate and gift tax returns
