Surgical tech Travel Contract Job - CST

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Surgical Technologist Ortho/Neuro/Spine Wausau, WI (54401)
40 Hours/Week | 13-Week Contract | Variable Day Shifts

Job Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks.

• Start Date: ASAP.

• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week.

• Primary Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI.

• Shift Requirements: Variable days.

• Float Requirements: May be required to float to Aspirus Merrill, Antigo, Medford, or Stanley as needed.

• On Call/Call-Back:

  • 6-8 nights of weeknight call and 1-2 weekends during the 13-week contract.

  • 30-minute response time required, must be ready and in the OR within 30 minutes.

  • Ortho/Neuro/Spine Crani cases are mandatory for call.

• Weekend/Holiday: Weekend on call only.

Certifications and Education:

• Certifications: AHA BLS required; CST highly preferred.

• Education:

  • Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program required.

  • Knowledge of surgical standards acquired through education and four or more years of OR experience.

Experience and Requirements:

• Minimum Experience:

  • 4+ years of OR experience required.

  • Prior travel experience required.

  • Ortho, Neuro, Spine experience required.

  • Trauma Level II experience required.

• Additional Requirements:

  • Must have own vehicle; reliance on Uber/Lyft is not feasible due to on-call responsibilities.

Unit Information:

• Specialties: Ortho, Neuro, Spine (plex spine and neuro cases required).

• Unit Specific Skills:

  • Setting up operative suites, managing case carts, scrubbing various surgical cases, turning over rooms for multiple procedures.

  • Facility includes 21 ORs with an average of 40-60 cases per day.

• Preferred Skills: General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, GI (not required but a bonus).
