RESPONSIBILITIES: The Surgical Technologist utilizes their knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures daily to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team efficiently. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to manage surgical instruments and supplies accurately, ensuring nothing is missing or contaminated. Effective communication skills enable the technologist to anticipate and respond promptly to the needs of surgeons and nurses during procedures. Problem-solving abilities are important when addressing equipment malfunctions or unexpected situations in the operating room. Additionally, teamwork and adaptability are critical as the technologist collaborates with diverse healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and effective surgical environment.
