Positions assigned based on employee availability and work experience. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University’s mission, vision and cultural values./p pstrongDining Hall Front of House/strong /p pThis position will operate the cash register and will work with the Dining Hall employees to keep the scramble area cleaned and organized. This position will also assist with maintaining a clean dining room as well as doing dishes and other food service operations as needed./p pstrongDining Hall Kitchen Assistant/strong/p pThis position will work with cafeteria employees doing general kitchen work including washing dishes, food preparation, stocking, cleaning, and helping in the scramble and seating areas./p pstrongPanther Den Retail Assistant/strong/p pThis position will work with the Panther Den Staff to take orders, prepare food orders and operate the cash register. Student employees will also assist with food prep, stocking, cleaning duties, dishes and general kitchen work./p pstrongHUB Cafe/Concessions Assistant/strong/p pThis position will work in the coffee shop and concessions stands to take orders, prepare food orders, and operate the cash register. This position will also assist with food preparation, stocking, cleaning duties, washing the dishes, other kitchen work, and event help (as necessary) in concessions./p pstrongRESPONSIBILITIES:/strong/p olliMust maintain a high level of presentation, enthusiasm for customer service and provide professional, courteous, and pleasant attitude toward all coworkers, students and staff./liliAdhere to the Davenport University Code of Conduct./liliWork with Dining Services Supervisors and staff to provide customers with the best service and quality product./liliFollow the sanitation requirements of food services and Kent County Health Department./liliDo dishes and cleaning projects as assigned by supervisors./liliEfficiently operate a cash register and credit card machine when needed./liliPerform inventory management duties when needed./liliFood production and preparation./liliPrepare concession food for customers during events./liliBe able to answer customer requests for information./liliHandle documents while maintaining a high level of confidentiality./liliClean the area when events are complete./liliPost daily menus, online and in paper/liliMaintain DU Dining social media pages/liliRecord trafficking data in google spreadsheets./liliDesign and print posters and various documents./liliDesign and post bulletin boards/liliBrainstorm promotion ideas/liliHelp set-up and run dining promotions./liliProvide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers./liliDemonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values./liliUnderstand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ol/p p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; line-height: normal;"pstrongQUALIFICATIONS:/strong/p ulliHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent./liliMust be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress./liliSome food service or coffee shop experience is desired but not required./liliStrong organizational skills./liliMust be able to follow directions./liliShould be able to work well independently and as part of a team./liliMust have strong customer service skills./liliDemonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University./liliDemonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe)./liliExcellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution./liliMust have dependable transportation/liliBusiness office/Foodservice environment.
