Powered by Care./strong/p pstrongEssential Functions:/strong/p pReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions./p pA Service Plumber Gas Meter Technician works under the direction of Gas Meter Foremen and the Gas Meter Supervisor and performs physical activities in support of completing meter exchanges, meter support for construction crews, meter move outs and associated piping, leak detection, relight of gas appliances, meter testing, service turn ons, and other related gas meter work. This position will identity and resolve problems and make timely decisions on a daily basis, constantly striving to obtain maximum productivity. This role will mentor and coach Gas Meter Technician I.  /p pstrongRoles and Responsibilities:/strong/p ul liMeets client and operating company standards related to gas meter work in accordance with our core values./li liInstalls gas meters, regulators, piping and pipe fitting work with black iron pipe./li liPerforms change-out of existing gas utility meters and installs upgraded gas utility meters./li liPerforms gas leak repair including above ground meter sets./li liKeeps legible hand-written accurate records including daily work logs and installation records./li liCleans and prepares meter worksites to eliminate possible hazards./li liMonitors and maintains tools and equipment for proper use, storage, and upkeep./li liCompletes all work in an organized, timely manner, within standard operating procedure./li liUses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards and communicates abnormal working conditions to appropriate parties./li liMeasures, cuts, and threads pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, pipe threaders, or pipe benders/li liInspects, examines, or tests installed systems or pipe lines, using pressure gauge, observation, or other methods/li liPlans pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications/li liAttaches pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment/li liCuts or bores holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks or walls prior to pipe installation, using hand or power tools/li liShuts off gases from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches/li liAssists crew leaders in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work providing meter support./li liWorks safely around customer houses and private property, backhoes, excavators, and directional drills./li liPerforms other duties as assigned. /li /ul pstrongSuccess Factors:/strong/p ul liMust be able to read and interpret documents such as safety data sheets, operating manuals, and work orders./li liAbility to communicate effectively both verbal and written./li liGood analytical skills and attention to detail./li liProvide exceptional customer service while on the jobsite./li liBasic math skills required when measuring and performing take offs for miscellaneous jobs./li liDetailed procedures.
