pspanstrongReady to join in? /strong We are seeking a full-time MRI Technologist to join our team. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing high quality images per physician's orders while providing excellent patient care. The potential candidate must possess high energy, compassionate, flexible and have great attention to detail. This position will be based at the Orthopedic Building in Chicago, IL near the Illinois Medical District./span/p

pstrongEssential Duties and Responsibilitiesspan /span/strongspaninclude the following. Other duties may be assigned./span/p
ul
lispanMaintain appropriate levels of supplies. /span/li
lispanPerforms duties of co-workers and subordinates as workload dictates. /span/li
lispanInterviews patient to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and to request removal of metal objects which are hazardous to patient and equipment when magnet is activated. /span/li
lispanProvide education and training for student technologists/span/li
lispanCoordinate scheduling and patient flow/span/li
lispanStart I.V.’s, administer contrast media as directed per protocol/span/li
lispanPerform routine cleaning and maintenance of the MRI facility (includes cleaning floors and surfaces, replacing light bulbs in the ceiling of the MRI scanner room, leaving the trash can outside of the scan room to be emptied by housekeeping staff daily./span/li
lispanOperate the MRI scanner to include routine and experimental setup, modification of scanning parameters to optimize data, weekly quality assurance testing, and basic troubleshooting of scanner malfunction/span/li
lispanDocument work processes as required. /span/li
lispanWork extended hours when necessary/span/li
lispanCommunicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. /span/li
lispanScreening patients prior to scanning, gather accurate history, preparing patients for their scan, providing immediate medical treatment and assistance when necessary and responding to incidents and accidents within the MRI Suite. /span/li
lispanResearch and document any questionable implanted devices./span/li
lispanDocument accurate and appropriate scan information in patient log book. /span/li
lispanMaintain a safe and appropriate work area/span/li
lispanAttend required meetings/span/li
lispanMaintain confidentiality of sensitive information/span/li
lispanWork as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments/span/li
lispanPractice proper safety precautions in the magnet environment/span/li
lispanUse professional/ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties./span/li
lispanPerform other duties as assigned/span/li
lispanStays abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPPA, OSHA, and FLSA./span/li
lispanPerform and document daily and/or weekley QA/ACR phantom requirements /span/li
lispanPosition patients to capture appropriate images/span/li
lispanDemonstrate an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology./span/li
lispanThe primary liaison between patients and radiologists and other members of the support team. /span/li
lispanAccurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions./span/li
lispanComply with all client facilities policies, procedures and practices./span/li
lispanAbility to follow directions/instructions from his/her supervisor./span/li

pspanstrongEducation and/or Experience/strong/span/p

lispanGraduate of ARRT approved program./span/li
lispanMinimum of 3 years of MRI orthopedic experience. /span/li
lispanOne year of Siemens MR Scanners./span/li
lispanX-Ray experience required./span/li

pstrongPay Range: $38.00 - $47.00 per hour. /strongCompensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity.
