The candidate will be responsible in ensuring the security, compliance, and resilience of the NASA ASDC databases and have experience working with federal compliance frameworks, securing hybrid cloud environments, and managing actions across the large network. bPreference is for candidate to work onsite in a hybrid form, but will consider /b/span/ppbspanremote work for the right candidate./span/b/pp/ppbuJob Description/u/b/ppThe successful candidate will be required to perform the following tasks./pullibLinux System Administration/bulliExperience in working with Linux systems/liliAbility to do essential system administration on Linux systems hosting databases/liliAbility to learn and perform additional system administration duties on Linux systems/li/ul/li/ulullibDatabase administration (PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL/MongoDB)/bulliDatabases in a Linux environment/liliPlanning of physical database environment. Capacity planning./liliInstall, configure, test, monitor, upgrade and tune new amp; existing postgres/mysql/mongodb instances/liliCreate and maintain database standards and policies/liliSupport database design, creation, testing and connectivity/liliManage database availability and performance/li/ul/li/ulullibDatabase design and architecture/bulliCreate and optimize tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures/liliDesign and implement database structures that meet the organization’s needs/li/ul/li/ululliDatabase maintenanceulliStay on top of database software new releases and affect to application/liliManage database availability and performance/liliSupport database design, creation, and testing/liliManage incidents and problems/li/ul/li/ululliDatabase SecurityulliSecurity/integrity controls/liliManage incidents and problems/liliImplement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, user authentication, encryption, and auditing as required to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and potential breaches./li/ul/li/ululliDatabase monitoringulliUse monitoring tools to review the performance of the database and server/liliCollect performance-related statistics and metrics/li/ul/li/ululliDisaster recoveryulliCreate regular backups and recovery plans/liliEnsure that backups are created and perform recovery procedures to restore lost data. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and manage continuous monitoring efforts for both on-premises and cloud environments./li/ul/li/ulp/ppbuRequired Qualifications/u/b/pulliBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required. Master#39;s Degree is a plus but is not required./lili5 – 7#43; years#39; experience in an enterprise systems environment as a system administrator and security agent./liliProven experience as a Database Administrator with at least 5 years of hands-on experience managing and administering PostgreSQL/MySQL databases./lilibIn-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL database /bmanagement systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization./liliStrong command of SQL and database query optimization techniques for PostgreSQL/MySQL./liliAbility to represent systems through good communication skills (orally and in well—documented plans) with customer, including ISSO and OCIO/liliKnowledge and understanding of bLINUX environments /b(filesystems, storage, architecture)./liliUnderstanding/familiarity with OpenShift./liliExpertise in securing physical, virtual, and containerized infrastructures in a hybrid environment./liliExperience with endpoint security, network security, and firewall management./lilibFamiliarity with “DevSecOps” /bpractices and securing CI/CD pipelines in an on-premises and cloud environment./liliKnowledge of configuration management protocols to ensure up-to-date inventory of systems, software, and libraries./liliProficient user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word/li/ulp/ppbuPreferred Qualifications/u/b/pulliExposure to DRBD/PCS (High Availability Tools)/liliScripting experience/liliConsulting and interfacing with other team members/liliExposure to pgbadger/ nagios /pgadmin /postgis tools and extensions/liliPrevious experience with a NASA or other US government agency and Knowledge of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) controls/liliStrong knowledge of identity management, MFA, and RBAC for hybrid environments./liliExcellent communication skills./liliSelf-starter who can work independently or as part of a team./liliAbility to work with stakeholders in a hybrid environment./li/ulp/ppUS Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required/pp/ppSalary range: $45/hour-$70/hr. based on experience/pp/ppThe selected applicant will be subject to a security investigation and employment is based on the ability to attain Minimum Background Investigation clearance and physical and logical access to NASA LaRC./ppAnalytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is proud of our customer relationships, our diverse and dynamic work environment, and our employees#39; career satisfaction.
