This position supports the districtrsquo;s vision of equity by ensuring students, families, and staff arrive to a safe and welcoming environment.nbsp;/p pnbsp;nbsp;/p pstrongESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:/strong/p ul liMaintains a safe situation at all times while directing traffic in the parking lot and in the designated student drop off and pick up areas for the purpose of maintaining all individualrsquo;s safety.nbsp;/li liAssists students and adults in proceeding carefully while crossing parking areas, streets, or designated student drop off and pick up areas for the purpose of maintaining individualrsquo;s safety.nbsp;/li liFollows instructions given by the principal for the purpose of supporting their safety endeavors.nbsp;/li liAssists students, parents, and other personnel as may be required, while maintaining a safe environment for all for the purpose of reducing safety risks./li linbsp;Performs other duties as assigned.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;/li /ul pstrongKNOWLEDGE OF:nbsp;/strong/p ul liTraffic rules and laws.nbsp;/li liMaintaining a safe school traffic environment as students are arriving and departing from school./li liProblem-solving techniques./li linbsp;Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.nbsp;/li liBilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.nbsp; nbsp;/li /ul divstrongABILITY TO:/strong/div div ul liUnderstand and carry out oral and written instructions./li liAddress people in a polite and courteous manner./li liHandle stressful situations./li liDemonstrate good judgment, initiative, and responsibility./li liCommunicate effectively orally and in writing with parents, students, staff, and administrators.nbsp;/li /ul /div pstrongENVIRONMENT:/strong/p ul liOutdoor environment.nbsp;/li liSeasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions./li /ul pstrongPHYSICAL DEMANDS:/strongnbsp;/p ul liStanding and walking for extended periods of time.nbsp;/li liHearing and speaking to exchange information.nbsp;/li liSeeing to monitor traffic and children.nbsp;/li liReaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally to direct traffic.nbsp;/li liLifting and maneuvering objects up to 25lbs.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;/li /ul pnbsp;/p
