pspanstrongspanPosition Summary/span/strong/span/p pspanThe Delivery Driver -- Box Truck will provide superior customer service through safe, effective, and timely delivery of parts and tires to Pep Boys stores. This position is responsible for safely operating a 26 ft. box delivery truck of less than three (3) tons and ensuring the delivery load is stacked, padded, and properly secured. This position may also assist with distribution center/hub operational activities when there are no deliveries to be made. This position may make deliveries to Pep Boys stores after store hours. This position has been designated as a safety-sensitive position./span/p p /p pspanstrongDuties amp; Responsibilities/strong/span/p ul lispanResponsible for all aspects of properly operating and maintaining the delivery truck including obeying all state, county, and local laws and reporting accidents, incidents and/or violations or traffic citations/span/li lispanEnsure all delivery loads are stacked, padded, and properly secured/span/li lispanVerify the load accuracy against the Bill of Lading and acquire the appropriate signatures/span/li lispanLoad and unload tires and parts on the delivery truck by hand and pallet jack/span/li lispanEffectively communicate with all store associates and management/span/li lispanOther duties as assigned/span/li /ul p /p pspanstrongKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities/strong/span/p ul lispanHigh school diploma or equivalent is required/span/li lispanValid driver's license with no DUIs is required/span/li lispan1 year of experience driving delivery trucks of less than three (3) tons is required/span/li lispanAbility to maintain a driving record which meets federal, state and company standards is required/span/li lispanHazmat and/or forklift certification is a plus/span/li lispanAbility to read instructions, policies, procedures, bills of lading, and product descriptions is required/span/li lispanAbility to complete written forms is required/span/li lispanSuccessful completion of a drug screen is required/span/li lispanStrong verbal communication skills/span/li lispanStrong customer service skills/span/li lispanAbility to exercise good judgement and work independently/span/li lispanAbility to work nights, weekends and holidays/span/li /ul p /p pspanstrongPhysical Demands/Work Environment/strong/span/p pspanThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
