Donor Center Technician I

pstrongAll shift available/strong/p pstrongSalary Range-$15-$18 per hour based on experience/strong/p pstrongEssential Job Responsibilities and Duties/strong/p ul liPerform pre-donation medical screening and/or assessment, which may include health screening procedures such as blood pressure, temperature check, pulse, capillary tube sample collection via finger stick, hematocrit, and total protein determination via digital refractometer, etc./li liSetup donors for the plasmapheresis procedure by ensuring that the disposable soft goods are installed in the automated plasmapheresis device/li liDisconnect the donor when the pheresis process is complete by ensuring collection targets have been met and recorded appropriately, removing the needle from the donor’s arm, and providing donors with post-donation care education/li liConduct pre-registration and registration verification activities for new donors/li liMonitor equipment in all areas in which trained for alerts or alarms and takes appropriate action following standard operating procedures/li liRemove equipment from service as necessary/li liParticipate in donor flow management by assigning and escorting donors to the appropriate donation br /area/li liLearn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company Procedures/li liThorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future/li liMaintain an open line of communication with Management/li liEnsure and maintain the confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information/li liMaintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors/li liAbility to accept performance feedback in a professional manner/li liRegular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings/li liOther duties as assigned/li /ul pstrongQualifications/strong/p ul liHigh school diploma or equivalent required br /Minimum six (6) months’ work experience preferred/li liLicense or certification where required by state br /Requirements br /Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills/li liAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions/li liDemonstrate discretion when dealing with confidential information/li liAbility to work on multiple projects concurrently/li liAbility to work independently and manage deadlines efficiently/li liExcellent verbal and written communication skills/li /ul pstrongPhysical Requirements/strong/p ul liUse hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear/li liFrequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee/li liAbility to sit for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a time/li liAbility to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds/li listrong/strong/li /ul pstrongWork Environment/strong/p ul liA typical work environment with moderate noise level/li liMay be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of time/li liOccupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens br /strong/strongstrong/strong/li /ul pstrongDisclaimer/strong br /This job description is construed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed.
