Full-time Teachers: English, Mathematics , Social Studies and Special Education (Grades 9-12)

Job Description:

True North Academy is a High School (grades 9-12) operated by Taylor Diversion Programs for at-risk students (ages 14-21) who reside at our nature-based, residential/educational center located in Sheffield, PA. We are seeking Full-time enthusiastic, devoted and engaging teachers of English, Math, Social Studies and Special Education to teach in our expeditionary school, emphasizing hands-on and project-based learning experiences. Classes range from 2-4 students. In addition to these subject areas, this position offers candidates an opportunity to teach elective courses such as personal development topics, fly fishing, archery and/or pursue a personal interest of your own for an elective (such as arts, music, sports, culinary, etc.). The successful candidate will hold a Degree /Certification in Secondary Education: English, Math, Social Studies, or Special Education and while not required, will have at least 1 year of teaching experience or equivalent experience to bring to the position. The salary range of this position is $36,000.00 - $50,000.00/year (based on experience) and includes a health, dental and vision benefit, paid time off, and 401(k) for the individual teacher who would be hired.
