iAutomation, a full-service automation company, developing robotic solutions and offering design, engineering, and integration (DE&I) services, product support, and production services, has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in Franklin, Massachusetts.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, high quality, and cost-effective operations. This role serves as a key liaison between design, production, and quality teams, driving continuous improvement and supporting the successful launch of new products or process changes.
- Develop clear, detailed, and user-friendly work instructions for the assembly of industrial control panels, including wiring, component placement, and enclosure integration.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and BOMs to create accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure manufacturability and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct time studies and process evaluations to optimize workflow and reduce production inefficiencies.
- Support training of production staff by providing technical guidance and documentation.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and productivity.
- Maintain and update documentation in response to design changes, feedback, and process improvements.
- Ensure all work instructions comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., UL508A, NEC).
REQUIREMENTS
Requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident/Green Card status, a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of experience creating work instructions in a manufacturing environment with industrial control panels or electrical assemblies.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, and CAD; AutoCAD, or SolidWorks is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of UL508A standards and industrial automation components.
- Hands-on experience in panel assembly or electrical wiring.
