Casting Operator

About the Role

We’re looking for a Low Pressure Casting Operator to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is responsible for operating brass low-pressure casting units and ensuring production quality and efficiency. You’ll work closely with automated equipment, monitor production cycles, and maintain high standards of safety and performance.

2nd shift & OT available.

Key Responsibilities

• Start programmed machine cycles and monitor HMI controls/alarms

• Visually inspect castings to meet quality standards

• Ensure equipment and materials are functioning per process specifications

• Perform shot blasting and hand-load ingot bars into the feeder

• Monitor alarms and make adjustments to optimize cycle time (target: 80 sec/cycle)

• Complete production paperwork and suggest process improvements

• Identify and separate scrap from production

• Perform weekly molten metal furnace cleaning

• Execute all required job functions as outlined in the functional job analysis

What You Bring

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Ability to pass a Functional Job Analysis assessment

• Ability to read, write, and speak English

• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions

Preferred:

• Previous experience with casting or metal manufacturing processes

• Understanding of basic casting practices

• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods and frequently bend, walk, and lift

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls

• Clear vision and focus adjustment required

• Ability to talk, hear, and follow verbal instructions

Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to high heat, dust, gases, odors, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment

• PPE is required and provided
