Position OverviewKansas Public Radio (KPR), a public radio station licensed by the University of Kansas, is hiring a student worker to assist with audio and video tech and production. Job Description100%:
    Assist with set up of audio and video equipment in KPR studios
  1. Assist with equipment tests and sound checks
  2. Operate and edit audio and video content using the appropriate software
  3. Document recording sessions and equipment
  4. Help with sound and video at KPR events
Required Qualifications
  1. Basic knowledge of audio/video equipment, as evidenced in application materials.
  2. Comfortable with tools and equipment, as expressed and evidenced in application materials.
  3. Detail oriented, as expressed and evidenced in application materials.
  4. Timely – able to arrive at all work shifts on time, as evidenced in application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge about KPR programming, as evidenced by application materials.
  2. Experience as a sound engineer or musician, as evidenced by application materials.
  3. Enthusiastic about music and media production, as expressed and evidenced by application materials.
  4. Ability to lift and move equipment with or without accommodation.
Position RequirementsDuring the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position.
