Traffic Safety Fiscal Assistant Opportunity

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full -time, grant-funded opening for the position of Traffic Safety Fiscal Assistant – P09653 with Florida Department of Transportation/Contract and Grants. What You’ll Do
The Traffic Safety Fiscal Assistant is a grant funded position housed at the Florida Department of Transportation. The position reports directly to the Traffic Safety Administrator at the Florida Department of Transportation and is responsible for tracking and processing claims for reimbursements. You’ll have the chance to:

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

·Document and track the processing of claims for reimbursement received by the FDOT State Safety Office. Create and maintain expenditure tracking spreadsheets. Scan claims for reimbursement and transmit for payment. Reconcile monthly payment logs to actual payment vouchers.

·Log equipment certifications. Reconcile paper and electronic files. Create miscellaneous correspondence.

· Log concept papers received by FDOT State Safety Office. Create and mail concept paper notification letters.

·Annually archive sub-grant files.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

·A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

·Previous experience as a staff assistant, support staff, secretary and/or related work experience requiring employee to be responsible for office operations and management assistance.

·Professional and non-professional experience may substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education.

·Applicant must have a valid Driver License.
