PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES MEDICAL ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

Job Summary:

Work with counseling department, psychiatric services to provide medical assisting duties for clients, assist other staff within the department including the psychiatrists/ARNP.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Medial Assistant Certification (MA)

Experience: One year is preferable but not required

Experience working in a Medical or Psychiatric clinical setting.

Experience coordinating all the care necessary to serve the needs of patients.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Medical Assistant in the State of Florida

Primary Job Functions

• Assist Psychiatric Services coordinator" for scheduling all Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management appointments.in person and using virtual telemedicine.
• Completes initial assessment of client’s current needs, medication issues or any other health related concerns prior to scheduled appointment with ARNP's.
• Assists the Psychiatrist/ ARNP during the telemedicine appointments, if there are any problems that arise
• Takes clients' vitals when appointments are in person
• Coordinates ensuring prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy, prior authorizations and consent forms are completed when necessary in a timely manner
• Checks work cellphone and e-mail twice a day to ensure medication requests are addressed in a timely manner (within 24 business hours).
• Communicates with both ARNP on a regular basis to keep each other updated
• Communicates and works collaboratively with Psychiatric Services Coordinator and Clinical Services Coordinator.
• Coordinates giving clients sample medications that Psychiatrist or ARNP authorize
• Fax the DCF form (Consent for Psychotherapeutic Medication) to pharmacies for children as needed
• Completes initial 5339's for child welfare children and updates them ongoing, as needed
• Send assessments (GAD, Adult ADHD, Vanderbilt Scales, PHQ-9) to patients prior to all psych evals & uploads them to ehr system.
• All other duties as required
