We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Professional Land Surveyor to join our client's team in Sussex County, DE. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and conducting land surveys, preparing maps and reports, and ensuring projects comply with all regulatory and legal requirements. This position requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers, architects, and contractors.
Professional Land Surveyor Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed field surveys to determine property boundaries, elevations, and contours.
- Develop and verify land descriptions, legal documents, and other survey-related records.
- Analyze data using specialized surveying instruments, GPS systems, and software to create accurate maps and reports.
- Prepare and present survey results for use in engineering designs, land development, and construction projects.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including calculations, field measurements, and map preparation.
- Communicate findings to clients, project managers, and other stakeholders effectively.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as project specifications.
- Supervise and mentor survey technicians and support staff as needed.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve discrepancies and address challenges in the field or design process.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in DE or able to obtain a transfer
- Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience in land surveying or a related field.
- Proficiency in survey instruments, GPS systems, and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong knowledge of legal principles, property laws, and local zoning regulations.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
Preferred:
- Proficient in LEICA & CAPTIVE and Carlson
- Strong leadership and project management
