Our firm primarily focuses on removal defense, family-based immigration and naturalization, and humanitarian- based immigration. The Candidate
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced associate immigration attorney with 3 to 5 years experience specifically in removal defense to join our team. This position demands creative strategizing and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing world of immigration court practice. Primary responsibilities will include independently handling a removal defense case load including meeting with clients and working with paralegals and administrative staff to prepare pleadings, brief writing and in-depth knowledge of 4th Circuit specific case law.
The Position
A minimum of three to five years experience in removal defense is required.
Salary range:
Starting at $95,000. Commensurate with experience.
Prefer candidates that will work in-person in our Richmond, Virginia office but open to remote working from the greater DC area combined with consistent, weekly time in-person in the Richmond office.

Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from a U.S. accredited law school.
- Admission to any state bar or the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience practicing removal defense.
- Valid U.S. drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible to practice in Maryland or Virginia.
- Fluency in Spanish (oral and written).
Legal Skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Effective oral advocacy and courtroom presence.
- Extensive experience with removal defense in the courtroom.
- Cultural humility and trauma-informed practice in client engagement.
- Ability to manage own casework with minimal supervision.
