About the Role:

As a Therapist at Wagoner Community Hospital, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the mental well-being of our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to provide therapeutic support through individual therapy sessions, addressing a variety of mental health issues. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. The ultimate goal of this position is to empower individuals to navigate their mental health challenges and achieve a healthier, more fulfilling life. Your expertise will not only contribute to patient recovery but also foster a supportive community environment within the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Valid state licensure as a therapist or counselor.
  • Experience in providing mental health counseling and therapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in a hospital environment.
  • BLS
  • Therapeutic Options or similar behavioral based training

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand patients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual therapy, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to promote healing and growth.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute mental health issues.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting progress and treatment outcomes.

Skills:

The required skills in Counseling Psychology and Mental Health Counseling will be utilized daily to assess and address the diverse needs of patients. Experiences and learn from one another. Skills in Crisis Intervention will be critical in managing acute situations, ensuring patient safety and well-being. Proficiency in Anger Management and Life Transitions will allow you to guide patients through challenging periods, helping them develop coping strategies. Additionally, your knowledge of Family Therapy will enhance your ability to engage with patients' families, fostering a comprehensive support system.
