About the Role

An established architectural firm is seeking an experienced Project Architect or Senior Project Architectural Coordinator to join its Charlottesville, VA office. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of educational and commercial projects, with an emphasis on renovations, additions, and new construction. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of architectural experience and advanced Revit expertise, along with a strong technical background and the ability to lead projects from concept through completion.

What You'll Do

  • Lead or contribute to design and development from concept through construction documents and completion.

  • Manage projects across renovation, addition, and new construction, primarily in the educational and commercial sectors.

  • Produce detailed, accurate, and coordinated documentation using Revit.

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and consultants to develop integrated design solutions.

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely communication and resolution of project issues.

  • Maintain quality control by reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and details for accuracy and code compliance.

  • Mentor junior staff in design principles, technical skills, and project workflows.

  • Stay current with industry best practices, codes, and sustainable design trends.

What You Bring

  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.

  • Minimum 7 years of architectural experience, with a focus on renovations, additions, and new construction.

  • Proficiency in Revit for modeling, documentation, and project coordination.

  • Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and applicable codes.

  • Demonstrated experience in producing complete construction documentation sets.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in K–12 educational or commercial architecture preferred but not required.
