Sanitation Technician

Department: Sanitation
Status: Full-Time | Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM (Overtime and weekend work as required by production demand)
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Reports To: Sanitation Manager

Summary

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the production facility. This role requires consistent attention to detail and physical capability to perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, lifting, and handling equipment daily. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate reliability, punctuality, self-motivation, and flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Report to assigned workstation and ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are available for use.
• Clean and sanitize production areas, lines, and equipment in compliance with company standards.
• Prevent overspray and cross-contamination by protecting active production lines.
• Remove, clean, and reassemble machine parts (belts, rollers, guards, etc.) as required.
• Maintain internal drains and ensure proper functioning.
• Clean facility floors, remove trash, and perform general sanitation duties according to GMP standards.
• Safely handle sanitation chemicals in alignment with SSOPs and SDS requirements.
• Identify and recommend improvements to sanitation techniques and practices.
• Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures to ensure equipment safety.
• Operate motorized pallet jacks or forklifts if certified.
• Perform additional sanitation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Commitment to food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety requirements.
• Ability to lift 10–50 lbs safely (team lifting required for heavier items).
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety policies.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures preferred.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification a plus.
