pstronguPrimary Duties amp; Responsibilities/u/strong/p ul liOperate a manual Cleaving tool, Focused Ion Beam (FIB) and Dual-Beam FIB to inspect, analyze, characterize, and troubleshoot failing devices from customers, devices from production or newly designed devices.nbsp;/li liUse a FIB and an Omniprobe to prepare samples for inspection in a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM)./li liSupport FA Engineering with preparing a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) for daily operation.nbsp;/li liOperate a Fourier Transform Infrared microscope (FTIR) to determine the molecular makeup of a substance (liquid or solid)./li liPerform advanced failure analysis of optoelectronic devices using a parameter analyzer and optical micro-scopes./li liWrite failure analysis reports inclusive of all findings and in a timely manner./li liWrite work instructions and processes for Failure Analysis at the direction of the FA Supervisor./li liEstablish productive working relationships with FA Engineers and our internal customers./li liHelp train other Failure Analysis teammates to follow processes and analyze, recognize, and properly report device failure modes./li /ul pstronguEducation amp; Experience/u/strong/p pRequires a minimum of 4 years of related experience or a 2 year vocational or technical degree with 2 years of experience./p pstronguSkills/u/strong/p ul liFailure Analysis experience required/li liFIB and SEM experience preferred/li liOmniprobe experience preferred/li liBasic understanding of chemistry and physics required/li liDexterity – for example, can handle tiny objects with tweezers/li liGood eyesight – sufficient to produce sharp microscopic images/li liProficiency with Microsoft Office and able to write failure analysis reports using PowerPoint/li liIndividual must be self-motivated and be able to organize and manage his/her daily work with minimal direction./li liAbility to clearly communicate technical information verbally and in writing/li liFamiliar with photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop/li liStrong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively collaborate with others including within department and cross-functional teams in order to achieve business unit and organizational objectives/li /ul pstronguWorking Conditions/u/strong/p ul liWork in a class 10,000 clean room for extended periods./li liWear cleanroom attire (smock, frocks, mask, etc.)/li liWork with and/or around chemicals (such as IPA and Acetone)./li /ul pstronguPhysical Requirements/u/strong/p ul liWork 8 hour shiftsnbsp;on Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm./li liDexterity sufficient to grasp and move tiny objects on the order of 85um in diameter with tweezers./li liTo havenbsp; closenbsp; visualnbsp;acuity, with or without corrective lenses, tonbsp;performnbsp;annbsp;activity such as: preparingnbsp;andnbsp;analyzing datanbsp;andnbsp;figures;nbsp;transcribing; focusing microscopic images on a microscope or atnbsp; nbsp; nbsp; operationnbsp; ofnbsp; precision positioning probes; usingnbsp; measurement devices; and/or assembly or destructive analysis of parts at distances close to the eyes./li liTo have the visual acuity to distinguish colors to identify defects on parts.nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;/li liJob requires expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word in English; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly./li liJob requires perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, andnbsp; having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.nbsp; nbsp;/li liBe able to review and investigate using a microscope, which requires employee to bend forward at the waist or spine, up to 1 hour at a time.nbsp;/li liSedentary work that primarily involves sitting and standing up to 4 hours at a time to use a work station, microscope or solvent hood.nbsp;/li liBe able to walk considerable distances in the facility, sometimes with shoe covers, up to 500 meters, to reach other areas of the factory.nbsp;/li liLight work that includes moving objects up to 30lbs over short distances./li liAscending and descending step stairs and ladders.nbsp;/li liOccasionally able to kneel/crouch to reach objects below workstations, requires bending the legs and resting on the knees.nbsp;/li liPrecision positioning manual probes using left and right hands and arms for up to 1 hour at a time./li liThe worker is subject to hazards:nbsp; Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts that can cause pinch hazards and exposure to chemicals.nbsp;/li liMust have the ability and wiliness to wear cleanroom attire for up to 4 hours at a time.nbsp;/li /ul pstronguSafety Requirements/u/strong/p pAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
