The job duties include examining and performing tests on various specimen types to provide patient management information to clinicians in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Transfusion Service and Specimen Processing. The technologist may be trained in all or selected areas dependent on laboratory needs. Laboratory and Corporate Compliance, as outlined by the OIG and HCFA, is an important aspect of our laboratory#39;s environment. Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of and behave in accordance with the Laboratory and Medical Center Compliance Plans. Patients served at Cook Children#39;s Medical Center range in age from newborn through the adolescent period. Additionally, adults are occasionally served.
