pMilliman’s Mountain Gulf Health Practice is looking for motivated current college students or recent graduates interested in a full-time or part-time seasonal (winter-spring) internship. Actuarial interns have the opportunity to perform data analysis to assist with consulting for various health insurance work areas, such as: Commercial / ACA, Behavioral Health, Risk Adjustment, Medicare Advantage and Part D, Medicaid, Dental, and more. This position provides opportunities for professional growth and technical skill development in the healthcare actuarial field./p

We are a group of highly self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals. Our practice has developed expertise in a variety of business areas, which means that we are always working on new and interesting challenges related to the healthcare field and the actuarial profession./p
pWe have carefully designed a program to help interns along their career path. Through our manager program, all staff members are paired with a dedicated manager to help support and celebrate the growth of each staff member./p

pIn this role you will:/p

liPerform analyses using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to clean, synthesize, and analyze data and information/li
liCommunicate results to peers and project leaders/li
liReview the work of your peers/li
liPrepare and document project files/li
liAssist with research and business development projects/li
liGain valuable experience working with health care data using a variety of software applications/li

liCurrently enrolled and returning to, or recently graduated from an accredited University, or changing careers to the actuarial field/li
liWorking towards, or completed, a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or another major with quantitative course work/li
liAt least one Society of Actuaries exam passed/li
liSolid understanding of basic actuarial concepts/li
liAbility to work independently and within a team/li
liEffective communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts verbally and in writing to diverse audiences/li
liStrong analytical and problem-solving skills/li

pThe overall hourly range for this role is $21 - $45 per hour. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. For candidates residing in:/p

liAlaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia - $23 - $41 per hour/li
liNew York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco - $25 - $45 per hour/li
liAll other states - $21 - $37 per hour/li
