That’s why at Hawthorne Cat we are committed to a comprehensive employee benefit program that helps our employees stay healthy, feel secure, and maintain a work/life balance./p/divpstrongPOSITION SUMMARY: /strong/p pUnder the direction of the Parts Operations Manager, this position sells a wide variety of parts to phone and walk-in customers, performs clerical and back-order functions as required and may fill in for the warehouse when needed./p pnbsp;/p pstrongESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:/strong/p ol liTakes parts orders from walk-in and telephone customers./li liAssures that the correct part numbers are supplied for the specific model and serial number of the machine or component involved./li liDetermines if the customer has ordered enough parts to perform the repairs adequately and makes suggestions for related or additional parts./li liIs aware of sales opportunities for changeover groups and special attachments./li liParticipates actively in all parts sales programs./li liInputs parts sales orders in a minimum length of time with maximum accuracy and in strict accordance with the Credit Department procedures./li liInforms customer if parts are in stock or if backordered, and approximate time they will receive it./li liFollows up on all orders to assure that customers receive prompt, efficient service./li liStudies all manufacturers parts bulletins and other releases to keep informed of the latest developments in machine design and parts changeovers./li liCompletes all assigned training courses./li liWhen required, provides customer service or call-ins after normal working hours./li liKeeps Management informed on matters of importance regarding customer service./li liContributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed./li liOther duties as assigned my management./li /ol pnbsp;/p pstrongEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:/strong/p ol li(Minimum of one year or equivalent) Hands on parts experience in one or more of the following: construction earthmoving machine parts, on-highway engine and truck parts, commercial generator engine parts, or automotive parts, a plus./li liMust have a valid CA Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record./li liMust have a high school diploma or equivalent (or equivalent experience)./li liAbility to work with customers and employees in a courteous and professional manner./li liExcellent verbal and written communication skills preferred./li /ol pstrongnbsp;/strong/p pstrongPHYSICAL DEMANDS:/strong/p ol liWalking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain./li liHandling: Picks up items, helps or works with hands./li liLifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts up to 60 lbs. with frequent exertion./li liReaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction./li liStooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist./li liStanding: Remains in standing position. If required, to perform various functions of the job./li liVision: Reads paperwork and files and records on the computer./li liTalking: Communicates via telecommunications and in person./li liSitting: Sits at desk.
