Demonstrates good judgment and knowledge of District policies and procedures which support the activities of the Department./li /ulnbsp; pbr bFunction/b/pnbsp; pUnder the supervision of the Field Supervisor for Food Services, responsible for the entire cafeteria operation including food preparation and service, employee training and supervision, sanitation, record control, forecasting, ordering food and supplies, and cashiering./pnbsp; pbr bReports To:/b/pnbsp; pField Supervisor for Food Services/pnbsp; pbr bResponsibilities:/b/pnbsp; ulliResponsible for all food preparation daily, including hot lunch and canteen items. Complete daily work schedules and work with employees on proper work methods and procedures. Written instructions should be short, complete, and clearly written./li liPrepare all daily reports, records, and deposits./li liEnsure all money collected is properly deposited on a daily basis./li liForecast and order food, supplies, and equipment from central warehouse. Keep inventories as low as possible to keep cost down./li liResponsible for the proper closing and securing of the cafeteria at the end of the day./li liSupervise serving counter set up according to steamtable diagram daily. Evaluate daily menu, make suggestions for changes, and determine items to be served on canteen./li liCashier and/or help replenish food daily during serving periods./li liConsult daily with cook on leftover food and how to properly utilize it./li liResponsible for checking in all food deliveries daily./li liEnsure that all food received is properly accounted for as sold, leftover or scrapped./li liResponsible for the final daily cleaning of kitchen, dish room, and dining room. Lift or carry 1 to 40 lbs. frequently, 41 to 60 lbs. occasionally./li liBend, stoop and reach above shoulder level occasionally. Work with machinery frequently./li liClimb ladders, stairs, and ramps occasionally./li liWalk and stand frequently, sit occasionally.
