Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions./span/span/span/divullispanspanspanWelds components related to tank cars including tanks, bolsters, underframes, side sills, etc./span/span/span/lilispanspanspanPerforms welded repairs by utilizing air arc cutting torch and stick or wire welding equipment./span/span/span/lilispanspanspanUses hand tools and equipment to chip and grind weld, slag or spatter./span/span/span/lilispanspanspanRepairs, straightens, removes, reworks car parts, brakes, underframes, center plates, gears, couplers, valves, etc. using various hand and power tools./span/span/span/lilispanspanspanPerforms welding and mechanical repairs to tank and hopper cars when required./span/span/span/lilispanspanspanMaintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards./span/span/span/li/uldivspanspanspanbuKnowledge and Skills Required:/u/b/span/span/span/divullispanspanspanMust pass the applicable welding test as prescribed by the company/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanHave a High School Diploma, GED, or ability to pass basic skills test/span/span/span/lilispanspanspanDemonstrate job related computational knowledge; for example, be able to read a ruler/span/span/span/li/uldivspanspanspanubWorking Conditions:/b/u/span/span/span/divullispanspanspanModerate to heavy physical effort involved. Lifts and carries necessary equipment to car to perform operation.
