Previous related work experience with children in an education setting may be substituted fornbsp;education requirement.nbsp;/li liPrevious experience coaching in a similar sport strongly preferred./li liMust possess teaching and coaching techniques appropriate to the sport assigned.nbsp;/li liCurrent Certification in First Aid, CPR, AEDnbsp;and Concussion./li liFirst Aid, CPR, AEDnbsp;and Concussion training required.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;/li liMust be available to attend activities, practices and meetings outside of school hours as necessary./li liCertification as required by MIAA./li liMust be dependable and reliable./li liStrong communication skills, both written and spoken./li liAbility to relate well to others./li /ul pstrongResponsibilities:/strong/p ul liCoaches individual participants in basic and advanced skills necessary for maximum individual achievement in the applicablenbsp;sport./li liDue to the complex needs of the athletes in this program, it is imperative that the coach collaborate with various support staff in order to meet each student's needs./li liProvides leadership to athletic team/li liTeaches, monitors and enforces appropriate standards of discipline and sportsmanlike behavior./li liMonitors adherence by athletes to the rules and regulations of the MIAA/li liFollows the Coaches Responsibilities and Expectations ndash; attached (adapted from MIAA Sportsmanship Manual)/li liAssists the Athletic Director in planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in-season and adhering to the schedule setnbsp;by the Athletic Director./li liKeeps up to date with any necessary training for assigned sport;/li liAttends regular coach meetings organized by the Athletic Director to discuss student eligibility, practicenbsp;schedules, practice locations, documentation, equipment needs, and any general concerns or questions;/li liCreates an environment where students are supported and encouraged to participate in the athletics program;/li liAdheres to practice schedules, student practice rules and medical compliance as required by the league;/li liStrictly upholds and enforces standards and rules of athletic program, especially safety rules and standards;/li liSets appropriate boundaries for students based on school rules;nbsp;/li liModels positive behavior and fair play for students;/li liInstructs students in the proper use of equipment and sets up equipment for practice and games;/li liNotifies Athletic Director in a timely manner of any misuse of athletic equipment and need for any replacement equipment;/li liCompletes all necessary documentation for students to participate in the Athletics program and ensures all documentation isnbsp;submitted by deadlines; Assists, as needed, in planning and executing an awards party for students at the end of the school year;nbsp;nbsp;/li liAttends all necessary meetings relating to the Athletics Program;/li liKeeps Athletic Director up to date on games, practices, and issues or concerns related to assigned sport;nbsp;/li /ul pstrongTo Apply:nbsp;/strongApply via TalentEd.
