pGeneral Responsibilities: /p ul liResponsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the curriculum component as required by the Head Start program Performance Standards and state and federal mandates./li liEnsure quality program service delivery./li liProtect the privacy of customers/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service./li /ul p /p pSpecific Duties:/p ul liWork closely with the ECS Head Start Program Manager in meeting program and overall departmental monthly, quarterly, annual goals and objectives./li liProvide Direct Supervision to Head Start Coach./li liDevelop and maintain procedure for documentation, multi-disciplinary team information, and tracking systems for the Preschool program./li liProvide oversight of curriculum to insure fidelity./li liWork collaboratively with Regional Coordinators to ensure that teaching teams are providing developmentally appropriate classrooms./li liWork collaboratively with Regional Coordinators to ensure the teaching teams are using data and child outcomes, developmental screening tools and parent input, for intentional planning./li liWork collaboratively with team to plan and deliver in-service trainings./li liWork collaboratively with Regional Coordinators to ensure the planning and implementing of transition activities for the child and family in preparation for the child’s next school setting./li liTrain and assist staff in the documentation, implementation, and monitoring of the curriculum./li liWork collaboratively with the Early Childhood Services management team to make sure all areas of service are in compliance and continually improving./li liResponsible to ensure all required program documentation is reviewed for accuracy, consistency and compliance./li liConducts CLASS assessments and reviews scores./li liMonitors and evaluates the progress of strategies and plans implemented and works with teaching teams to improve teaching practices./li liWork collaboratively with Regional Coordinators to ensure that the teachers are providing a developmentally appropriate classroom./li liWork collaboratively with Regional Coordinators to guide that the teachers are using data and child outcomes from Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment reports; teaching teams and parent input are to be used for weekly lesson plans, IEPs, individual and group planning./li liResponsible for training and ongoing support of designated staff./li liCollect, review and analyze data for program reporting and continuous improvement./li liFollow interview procedures when a staff vacancy occurs./li liFacilitate a comprehensive orientation for new staff./li liPerform 90 day and annual performance evaluations./li liReview all Preschool performance evaluations./li liAccurately complete required program documentation and record keeping in a neat and timely manner./li liRecruit families and promote agency programs within the community./li liParticipate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, training opportunities, as identified and approved by supervisors./li liAttend community events and meetings to support the agency programs; including evening and weekend events/meetings./li liAll other duties as assigned/li /ul p /p pEducation and Experience Qualifications:/p ul liBA/BS in child development, early childhood or related field with a minimum of 5/li /ul p        years of experience working with young children and families/p ul liMinimum of 5 years effective supervisory skills/li liDemonstrated ability as a strength-based leader./li liDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively./li liKnowledge of Head Start Performance Standards; Head Start School Readiness, Head Start Outcomes Framework, Great Start Readiness Program and State Licensing Regulations./li liPreschool experience preferred./li liKnowledge of Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold/Child Plus preferred./li liDemonstrated ability to present information to community groups./li liFamily Service Credential within 18 months of hire or first available session thereafter./li /ul p /p pAdditional Requirements:/p ul liPossess a solid knowledge base with respect to child development and family services and seek to expand knowledge at every opportunity./li liComplete additional certifications as required./li liMaintain confidentiality and code of ethics at all times./li liMust have Proficient Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)/li liMust have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and MMCAA’s “Insurance Carriers” driving record review./li liSuccessfully complete required background checks at time of hire and when requested./li liShall provide written report by a physician stating their physical capability and freedom from communicable tuberculosis./li liMust have good communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively with people./li liMust be self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment./li liMust possess the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes within allocated time frames./li liMust be willing to accept new challenges./li liThe ability to navigate and effectively resolve conflict./li liThe job duties require a working cell phone for accessibility to supervisors, clients, or co-worker or to enhance personal safety while away from the office location.
