Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Shift: Tuesday – Friday | 10-hour Day Shift (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Schedule: No weekends, no on-call

 Position Summary:Under general supervision, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and advanced imaging equipment. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging, radiation safety, and accurate documentation while delivering exceptional patient care across all age groups. Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience required
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Active NYS License/Registration (required)
    • ARRT (N) or CNMT certification (required)
    • CPR certification (required)
Equipment & Systems:
  • Cameras: Siemens C Cam, Siemens Intivo SPECT/CT
  • Procedures: SPECT imaging, radiopharmaceutical preparation & administration
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Review and verify provider orders; consult with Radiologist as necessary.
  • Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals via injection, ingestion, or inhalation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all imaging activities and patient documentation.
  • Conduct and document daily quality assurance tests on all imaging equipment.
  • Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and ensure proper anatomical visualization.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of radiopharmaceuticals and department supplies.
  • Adhere to radiation protection standards to ensure patient, staff, and personal safety.
  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.

  • Environment: Diagnostic Imaging / Nuclear Medicine Department
  • Safety & Quality: Must demonstrate knowledge of ALARA principles and use of radiation detection devices
