Job Description
Our team is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Paving Inspector to support municipal and county-level infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the quality, safety, and compliance of paving and roadway construction activities. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction inspection, a deep understanding of local agency requirements, and the ability to work independently across active job sites.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct daily inspections on construction and paving job sites to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and local codes
Review site plans, drainage layouts, grading, and utility drawings to ensure scope accuracy
Perform field quality control assessments on materials such as asphalt and concrete to meet industry and agency standards
Document and report on inspection findings, identifying any deviations or issues that require resolution
Communicate with project managers, contractors, municipal staff, and other stakeholders to address quality concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Track and record job progress, including measurements of installed work items
Maintain working knowledge of current construction regulations, quality standards, and agency expectations
Support data collection and analysis efforts related to construction productivity and material performance
NICET Certification (required)
NJSAT Membership and Certification (preferred)
Prior experience in construction quality inspection, especially for municipal or transportation projects
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and QC standards
Skilled in verifying and measuring paving-related work, including asphalt, base, and concrete installation
Strong communication and documentation skills
Self-motivated and capable of working independently in the field
Proficient with digital inspection tools, tablets, and reporting systems is a plus
