Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher

Maintain a positive and productive learning environment

Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs

Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and cafeterias

Assign and review classwork/homework as needed

For long-term assignments: develop lesson plans aligned with curriculum

Provide instructional support to teachers in the classroom

Assist students with classwork, projects, and learning activities

Support students with special needs to ensure success

Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment

Supervise students during non-classroom activities (cafeteria, playground, etc.)

36 college credit hours (any subject) OR completion of a DESE-approved online training program

Valid Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate

Fingerprint background check (contact Penmac before starting this step)

Completion of required Penmac training

High school diploma or equivalent

ParaPro Assessment or 60 college credit hours (preferred, but not always required)
