Job Title: Laser Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Laser Supervisor or Fabrication Supervisor
Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our 2nd shift team. This role begins earlier in the day to support first shift operations before transitioning to primary laser operation responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be flexible, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality parts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC laser cutting equipment, ensuring accuracy and part quality
- Set up and monitor machines based on job specifications and production requirements
- Assist with first shift operations, including:
- Operating the piranha ironworker
- Running the tube bender
- Supporting press brake operators as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job instructions
- Perform quality checks using calipers, tape measures, and other tools
- Handle and organize materials before and after cutting
- Clean, deburr, and prepare parts for the next production phase
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform basic machine maintenance and report issues promptly
Qualifications:
• Experience with CNC laser cutting preferred
• Familiarity with fabrication equipment such as piranha ironworker, tube bender, and press brake is a plus
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and use standard measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing throughout the shift
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
