Location: New Paltz, NY
Pay: $19/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Specialist to join a busy healthcare office in New Paltz, NY. This role is ideal for someone with 3–6 months of medical billing or office experience who is looking to build their career in healthcare administration.

As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will support the billing and collections process, assist with accounts receivable, and provide administrative and customer service support to patients, providers, and insurance companies.

Revenue Cycle Specialist Responsibilities

• Review and process insurance claims, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payments, and denials
• Post charges and payments accurately into the system
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of designated accounts receivable and ensure timely collections
• Respond to patient, provider, and payer inquiries via phone, email, and mail
• Verify patient eligibility and update insurance information
• Assist with preparing and mailing paper claims, spreadsheets, and appeals as needed
• Identify issues with denied claims and communicate them to management

Revenue Cycle Specialist Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or healthcare preferred
• Medical Billing & Coding or Medical Administrative Assistant certification a plus
• 3–6 months of medical billing, collections, or healthcare office experience required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, etc.) a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
