Position: Sr. Coordinator, Payroll
Technology Solutions team
Start: ASAP
This position is available to start immediately. The estimated pay range is likely $75,000-$90,000
Hybrid: We are currently flexible on the work model. This could be a hybrid role in the DMV area (in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays) or a fully remote position within the US. We are open to considering candidates for both options.
Key Result Areas:
• Process employee advances and repayments
• Update employee payroll records as needed
• Timely and accurate processing of US semi-monthly payroll
• Process direct deposit payments
• Work with third party vendor to make semi-monthly employee payments, calculate and deposit payroll taxes
• Process and issue annual W-2 forms to employees
• Process and distribute reports for compensation, taxes paid, garnishments, and deductions
• Answer questions from employees related to payroll topics
• Liaison between third party tax consultants and expats regarding foreign tax payments and filings
• Workday biannual release and payroll testing
• Serving as the US payroll subject matter expert (SME)
• Mentoring and training payroll personnel on new payroll compliance standards
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
• Work with the HR teams to apply payroll policies and Workday system for the US and global employees
• Serve as lead trainer and provide Payroll policy support
Policies and Procedures:
• Work with the US Director-Accounting and Operations to update payroll policies and financial statements to conform with all new GAAP changes
Training and Development:
• Coaching new staff members on payroll and time tracking
Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:
• Perform monthly payroll financial analysis
• Process Payroll reconciliations, resolving the discrepancies
General Accounting & Statutory Compliance:
• Participate in tax files to third parties; quarterly Form 941 reporting and filing; account analysis and reconciliation, journal entries to insure accurate month end and year end closing
• Reviewing and approving Employee and Payroll reports for timely and accurate payments
• Resolving questions and securing approvals on changes within employee data records.
• Reviewing employee locations by state to ensure compliance with local and state tax regulations (e.g. SUI, SIT, and local taxes)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of experience and education;
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired
• 3-5 years related work experience processing payroll
• Demonstrated knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations, and procedures
• Proven ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel
• Experience with some Accounting modules of Workday Financials
• Professional written and oral communication skills
