Unit Overview

12 James Surgical Oncology is a high-acuity mixed PCU and Medical-Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric oncology patients. The unit is fast-paced, and all permanent staff are PCU trained.

Staffing & Scheduling

• Target Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (may increase to 1:5)

• Weekend rotation based on unit needs

• Self-scheduling requests available

• No block or guaranteed scheduling

• Travelers may float within their scope of practice
\t
• Rotating D/N contracts may include day shifts, night shifts, or both depending on staffing needs

• Schedule reviewed every 4 weeks
