About The Position

WEEKEND NIGHTS Unit Information: Ultrasound Location: Catholic Medical Center Address: 100 McGregor St. Manchester, NH 03102 Floor: Level A Radiology Building: 78 General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds - 4 ultrasound rooms Number of Staff 14 Type of staff: o Day Shift 4 sonographers staffed (plus supervisor) o Second shift- 1 sonographer staffed after 7:30p o Night Shift 1 sonographer staffed Patient Ratios 8-10 in an 8 hour shift Type of equipment Siemens Acuson S200 & GE Logiq E10 EMR Allscripts PACS- InteleRad Patient Population - pedi to geriatric Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: At least one year of experience with a wide array of exposure to various types of ultrasound, a good track record with past employers, and positive references Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Knowledge of anatomy and pathology with ability to recognize normal from abnormal findings Basic scanning skills with good understanding of sonographic physics and techniques Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting- with some exposure to general, vascular, & OB-GYN sonography Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. Additional certifications: RVT, OB-GYN, AB Experience in the OR and with ultrasound procedures 1 year of experience beyond education List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Thoras, paras, FNAs (thyroids, parotids, lymph nodes), soft tissue masses or lymph node BXs, liver & renal BXs, drainages (abscesses, cysts, hematomas, gallbladders), thrombin injections, etc OR- breast needle placements, carotids, D&Cs, prostate BXs Best personality Fit: Hard working, willing to learn, motivated self starter, fast learner, considerate of others, compassionate patient care, can work on a team and independently, willing to teach, does not engage in gossip, able to communicate with management appropriately, willing to adhere to dept policies REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: BLS, RDMS, NH MIRT Licensure Floating Area(s): Opportunities for extra shifts within the dept. If Breast ultrasound desired- BCC may have opportunities Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - Any color professional, clean appearing scrubs or radiology themed t shirts Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines. Attendance and PTO request policies must be followed, all exam protocols need to be adhered to Weekends and On-call (if any) Weekends covered by weekend position staff.
