QA-QC Inspector

Position Summary

The Lab Technician - Nutrition manages daily testing and workflows for the R&D lab and performs routine data collection tasks and lab experiments to support research and development efforts for the Profile Growing Solutions Business Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities – Focus on Nutrients

• Conduct research and development trials on nutrient products and materials including new product development and support for existing products.
• Develop and manage research data of nutrient products and materials and clearly present to teams.
• Ensure maintenance of Florikan R&D Lab to include equipment calibration/maintenance, material safety compliance and storage, and regular cleaning.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality Control teams to coordinate all nutrient related production trials and the development of product formulations and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed records for R&D and for general nutrient projects, trials, laboratory tests/experiments, samples, etc.
• Provide Qa/Qc support to fertilizer operations teams as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Min. 2 years of experience in the fertilizer/horticulture/Ag industry, or in a lab-based setting.
• Experience with technical lab equipment or machinery.
• Strong ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Strong ability to problem solve and maintain a resilient attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and precision.
• Experience in product development is preferred.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read, write, and speak in English; ability to speak and to understand basic Spanish preferred.

• This position works in a laboratory, manufacturing, and greenhouse environment.
• Noise levels in the office or laboratory are low to moderate; noise levels in the manufacturing environment are moderate to loud; noise levels in the greenhouse environment are low to moderate.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• This position will involve exposure to hazardous materials and extreme heat and/or cold.

Schedule:

Peak Season (January-June) Thursday-Sunday 6pm-6:30am

Out of peak season (July-December) Monday-Thursday 10 hour shifts starting at 6pm or 8pm.
