As a Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational activities within a specific geographic region.
The primary responsibility of the Regional Operations Manager must have experience with full Profit & Loss experience for several locations. Attain the production requirements necessary to meet the sales requirements of each plant assigned. This position must staff the plants in a manner that develops the future personnel necessary to implement and achieve both short-term and long-term corporate objectives.
This Regional Operations Manager position reports to the Vice President of Central Operations for Hardscapes Division. Reporting to this position are General Managers.
Essential Duties:
- This person is responsible for continually establishing and reviewing objectives for improvement of the manufacturing process to achieve improved productivity and efficiency at the plants assigned.
- Annually reviews and recommends rate changes for all personnel assigned. Provides direction and guidance on the annual review process and rate changes for all other personnel in the plants assigned.
- This person guides, directs, and evaluates the General Managers and Plant Managers assigned in the staffing, hiring, evaluation, discipline, and development of the various department management personnel.
- Oversee the preparation of the annual capital budget and the annual operating budget in conjunction with the plant management assigned. Assists the plants in securing capital funds as budgeted and required to meet plant objectives.
- Develops an attitude and awareness of the Company’s safety goals at each plant assigned. Provides direction and guidance for achieving safety objectives.
- Visits assigned plants on a regular basis, reviewing production goals, problem areas, staffing, maintenance programs, safety programs, quality control, delivery schedules, sales department concerns, etc.
- Inform Vice President of Central Operations on the status of sales, production, personnel changes, major expenses, and other significant developments at the individual plants assigned. Maintains information on the status of P&L results, capital requirements and capital spending.
- Other duties as assigned by Vice President of Central Operations
Qualifications:
- A four-year college degree and several years of related work experience are required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction engineering, plant design, plant operations, and the legal requirements of plant management are required.
- Knowledge of general office procedures, accounting, and administrative controls is necessary.
- Must be able to build, maintain and lead a teamwork type environment.
- Must have strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
