Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development:
Sales Representative in training to become an agency manager
Actively prospect for new clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and marketing strategies.Meet with prospective clients to assess their needs and financial situation.
Provide quotes and present tailored insurance solutions for personal lines (auto, home, renters, boat, etc.) and/or commercial lines (workers' compensation, general liability, commercial property, etc.).
Cross-sell and upsell additional policies to existing clients to increase their coverage.
Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
Client Management and Service:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Assist clients with policy changes, renewals, and cancellations.
Guide and support clients through the claims process, acting as an intermediary between the client and the insurance company.
Administrative and Compliance:
Accurately complete and process insurance applications, forms, and other documentation.
Maintain detailed and up-to-date client records in a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
Stay current with industry trends, changes in laws and regulations, and new insurance products.
Adhere to all ethical and professional standards and licensing requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
Licensing: Must have or be willing to obtain a valid state P&C insurance license within 45 days. Many states also require continuing education to maintain the license.
Experience: Previous sales or customer service experience is often required or preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain complex insurance concepts.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Preferred (but not always required):
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Knowledge of specific insurance products (e.g., personal lines vs. commercial lines).
Bilingual skills.
