Johnson's Discount Flooring Outlet is looking to fill a Sales Professional Position. Experience in the floor covering industry is a plus but not required. With offer a competitive salary plus commission basis, we will provide on the job training but the most important qualifications are a “customer first” and “can do” attitude. Our ideal candidate is a friendly and upbeat person who can sell flooring products to customers inside the Johnson's Discount Outlet and support the service needs of the company in the warehouse. Johnson's offers a competitive $18 hourly Salary (based on qualifications) plus a 7% + base commission, in addition to a Multi-tiered commission incentive and a benefits package, along with career development opportunities.

JOB DUTIES

Help customers make the best possible buying decision

Excellent customer service, including follow-up

Add-on selling and step-up selling

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and product trends

Staying alert to in-store sales, promotions, and inventory changes

Estimating jobs for customers

Follow policies and procedures for writing sales orders: complete worksheets, enter the order into Job Runner, and collecting payments

Contribute to the collaborative development of a sales goal plan for achievement and professional growth and development

Maintaining the store appearance and cleanliness to ensure that the customer gets a favorable impression of the outlet when they enter

Unload stock trucks, roll goods, and padding

Make required cuts on rolls

Cut and roll remnants to insure proper selection

Load Installer Trucks or customer cars with sold goods

Properly display all stocked goods in the manner prescribed

Product prick-ups and job site deliveries

All other tasks as needed

KEY COMPETENCIES

Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials and rolls of flooring products

The ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner is essential.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle stressful situations.

Have a track record of high-quality work with an attention to detail and accuracy.

Dependability - Follows instructions and commits to complete the work necessary.

Work independently while exercising good judgment.

Maintain confidentiality where appropriate.

Ability to operate Hi-lo and other warehouse equipment.

Commitment to continuous self-improvement and learning.

An aptitude for learning new software systems.

This is a full-time position in Grandville, Michigan.

On-the-job training and no limit on training timeline.
