Global TechPro is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Witness Support Specialist to provide essential administrative and logistical support to the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO). This role is critical to the efficient operation of the federal judicial system by ensuring fact witnesses are effectively managed, prepared, and supported throughout the legal process. The primary focus of this position is on witness coordination, travel logistics, and reimbursement processing, enabling USAO Victim-Witness personnel to concentrate fully on providing direct services to crime victims.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate contact with fact witnesses to notify them of appearance dates/times, travel arrangements, and to identify any special circumstances or needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, fielding phone calls and inquiries from witnesses.
  • Arrange and coordinate all aspects of witness travel and lodging in strict accordance with Department of Justice and USAO policies
  • Preparing necessary documentation, securing authorizations, and ensuring witnesses have all required information prior to their appearance.
  • Meet with witnesses upon arrival for hearings, trials, or grand jury appearances
  • Provide courtroom orientation, accompany them to court, and ensure they have a secure waiting area.
  • Prepare, submit, and track witness vouchers and all required documentation for expense reimbursements
  • Gather necessary signatures and documentation, and reconcile government travel accounts to ensure timely witness payment.
  • Confer and coordinate with Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs), legal staff, the U.S. Marshals Service, courts, probation offices, pretrial services, and various federal investigative agencies.
  • Establish, maintain, and manage physical and digital witness files and databases with a high degree of accuracy
  • Track hearing dates, trial schedules, and grand jury appearances.
  • Draft and prepare standard correspondence, legal documents, and reports requiring knowledge of specific legal terminology and procedures related to witness management.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative, legal, customer service, or client-facing role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database entry and management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and solve problems effectively.
  • Prior experience in a legal, government, or law enforcement environment.
  • Familiarity with the federal court system and legal terminology.
  • Experience making travel arrangements and processing reimbursements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
