What You’ll Do
- Perform advanced structural analysis and calculations for steel structures and lifting equipment
- Apply structural theory to practical, manufacturable designs
- Create, review, and approve structural calculations, reports, and design input documentation
- Review calculations, drawings, and design packages prepared by other engineers
- Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams
- Support Field Service with technical solutions and manufacturing with equipment-related inquiries
- Review drawings and bills of material for accuracy, constructability, and compliance
- Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge within the Structural Engineering group
- Support continuous improvement, quality, and safety initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program (required)
- Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred, not required)
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- 7+ years of structural engineering experience (steel structures preferred)
- Strong background in static analysis, strength of materials, and beam theory
- Experience designing steel girders, columns, connections, and fatigue-critical structures
- Familiarity with applicable design codes such as AISC, ASCE/SEI 7, CMAA, AWS, ASME, and ACI 318
- Experience reviewing and approving engineering calculations and designs
- Proficiency with engineering tools such as Mathcad, Excel, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA), seismic, or vibration analysis experience is a plus—not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams

Professional Licenses
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) status preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly valued but not required
REQUIREMENTS
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
- Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
- Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws (including 10 C.F.R. Part 810, EAR, and/or ITAR), where applicable
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with company policy and randomized drug screens during employment
- Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
- Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in or around shop or job-site areas
- Willingness to complete required safety and compliance training
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to maintain professional conduct aligned with company values and expectations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Ability to work full-time, on-site Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM
- Certain projects may require the ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities in compliance with NRC regulations (10 C.F.R. Parts 26 & 73)
- Ability to occasionally travel to job sites or customer facilities
- Ability to work in office, manufacturing, and occasional field environments while following all safety requirements
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based engineering role with regular collaboration across departments
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments and job sites
- Occasional work at heights or in outdoor or industrial settings
- Required adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements
