An outpatient cancer center is seeking a hematologist/oncologist for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is 1 hr and 30 mins South of Birmingham, AL.

About the Clinician's Workday

This outpatient position averages 1012 patients per day, with occasional days up to 15, and includes 23 new consults daily. The role is locums-to-perm or until a permanent hire is found, with very light call. The provider will work alongside one medical oncologist, a nurse practitioner handling new patients and follow-ups (primarily hematology), and a radiation oncologist. The practice uses Viecure, an oncology-specific EMR system.

  • Case Load/PPD:  10-12 ppd, 15ppd some days
  • Support Staff:  h1 Med Onc, has a NP in taking on the new patients and follow-ups- mostly for hem
  • Patient Population:  Adults
  • Call Ratio/Schedule:  limited call , phone calls

  • Prescriptive Authority Required:  Yes
