The LHH is seeking a CNC Programmer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with an aerospace and defense manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing industries in America and to join a very strong engineering team. You will work with a variety of new equipment and machinery, program multi-axis lathes, and lead process improvement initiatives. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $110,000-120,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program multi-axis CNC machines (up to 5-axis) to produce highly precise aerospace components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to set up machines and develop efficient machining strategies.
- Design and assist in the creation of tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support complex setups.
- Model cutting paths using CNC software and optimize machine settings for quality and efficiency.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and customer specifications.
- Modify programs and setups to improve cycle times and reduce waste without compromising quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues and perform basic maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening tools.
- Train operators on proper CNC machine operation and program interpretation.
- Manage project timelines and ensure programming aligns with production schedules.
- Evaluate production costs and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Associate’s Degree in CAD, Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, or a related field is highly preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of CNC programming experience for machining equipment is required
- Expertise in Mastercam is NON-NEGOTIABLE
- Experience with multi-axis mills and lathes is required
- Must have experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset is required
