Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a specialized cardiac and heart failure unit. The RN will care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, utilizing strong clinical assessment skills and advanced cardiac monitoring knowledge in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
•\tAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for PCU patients with cardiac and medical conditions.
•\tMonitor and manage patients with heart failure, post-cardiac surgery conditions, and other progressive care needs.
•\tAdminister medications, IV therapies, diuretics, inotropes, and other prescribed treatments.
•\tMonitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes requiring intervention.
•\tCollaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
•\tEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
•\tAccurately document patient care and clinical findings using the Epic electronic medical record system.
•\tRespond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.

Unit Information
•\tCardiac-focused Progressive Care Unit
•\tApproximately 31–40 beds
•\tSpecialized cardiac patient population
•\tProcedures are performed by designated procedural departments
Required Qualifications
•\tActive Delaware RN License or Compact RN License.
•\tMinimum of 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience.
•\tRecent Epic charting experience required.
•\tStrong cardiac assessment and telemetry monitoring skills.
•\tExperience caring for heart failure and other cardiovascular patient populations.
•\tCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
